PERSIL

The “White lady” of Persil, although already 100 years old, is still looking young and bright. It is Kurt Heiligenstadt’s (DE 1890-1964) most important motif. Until the 1960s, the design with the elegant beauty holding a Persil packet in her hand appeared on various tin and enamel signs, posters, newspaper advertisements and standard clocks in the squares and streets of many German cities. Even today, this motif is one of the most popular advertising icons in Germany and one of the absolute ‘must haves’ for many advertising collectors all over the world.
