BIERE SEDAN ARDENNAISE

The fresh & vivid colors of the French Bière de la Grande Brasserie Ardennaise. The woman, draped in a French flag, is the singer Marthe Chenal. She became famous in the early 20th century after singing the national anthem from the balcony of the Opéra Garnier on 11 November 1918. The singer, with a glass in her hand, forms with her arms the V of victory, as if drinking Sedan beer were a patriotic gesture. Few examples are in a good condition, most were destroyed or damaged in 1940, during the German attacks in the Ardennes.
