LA VACHE QUI RIT thermometer

Lovely rare enamel thermometer/advertising sign featuring the famous La Vache qui Rit. It dates from the 1930s and shows the well-known “Laughing Cow,” designed by illustrator Benjamin Rabier. His clever idea created the brand’s instantly recognisable red cow with its signature earrings.

During the 1930s, many La Vache qui Rit enamel signs were made in both France and Belgium, usually the common round, curved types in different sizes. This however is a rarer thermometer sign, which is much harder to find today. This version was produced in Germany by Ferro-Email. Careful observers will notice small design differences in comparaison to the French version, such as in Rabier’s signature and in the color of the earrings.

In a stunning condition, superbly well conserved without any damages or defaults … as if it was never displayed in the street to promote the La Vache qui Rit brand. A true once-in-a-lifetime to get your hands on this opportunity.
