Advertisements for alcoholic beverages quickly claimed a firm place in the history of the poster. Some of them even became icons—such as this elegant Cinzano Vermouth stunning design by the Swiss Jean-Pierre Otth (CH, 1924–1988).

Remarkable sidenote … we have no idea if Jean-Pierre Otth was inspired by the work of Peruvian cartoonist Julio Málaga Grenet (1886-1963) who is known for his design for the Argentine beer brand Quilmes Cristal. But we do know Julio Málaga Grenet made a nearly identical design half-a-century before Otth did. Close copy ? Plagiary ? Discover for yourself !
